News Item: : Unexpected Medical Bill of Nearly $20,000, No Insurance

We are a family of 5 that had a very difficult year! Earlier in the year I lost a job that I loved due to the economy. My wife was forced into increasing her hours at work, but those approved hours were cut in October. I was only able to find a part-time job working with children as a PSR Specialist. It’s a rewarding job to help these children, but not enough hours to support our family. Since my income is so meager, I still qualify to receive unemployment, but those benefits will end in March. In November my wife was sent to the emergency and had to have surgery. Unfortunately we didn’t have medical insurance, so now owe nearly $20,000 for a 10 hour event at the hospital. We have 3 beautiful daughters ages 11, 8 and 4 who bring much joy into our lives. We would like to be able to provide for their needs, but situations are making it harder to do so. We need help with paying bills so we don’t lose our home. Anything would be greatly appreciated and a blessing to us! Thank you! Sincerely, Gary
