My youngest son was just diagnosed with diabetes and unfortunately he does not have any medical insurance at this time. I have applied for emergency medical coverage through my state where I was told it could take anywhere between 60 to 90 days to be approved, so I find myself in the position of being forced to choose between feeding my three children, paying for electricity and other utilities in order to afford my son’s insulin and supplies until his state insurance is approved. I have also applied for assistance with several local agencies, but our monthly income is a mere $7.00 over the monthly income limit therefore making us ineligible. My oldest daughter has a disability that complicates an already strained monthly budget. I am not a deadbeat mom, nor do I live above my means but in today’s economy unfortunately I am forced to live payday to payday without a safety cushion to fall back on. I am asking for your generosity and any assistance that you can provide and in return you have my promise that I will repay your generosity and kindness forward when my situation is resolved.
